The grapefruit is a fruit native to the Mediterranean region. It belongs to the large Rutaceae family. The essential oil is extracted from the peel and is used in many cosmetic products as well as in perfumery.

Depending on the place of cultivation, the time of harvest, the quality of distillation, the content and proportion of active ingredients may vary slightly. Nevertheless, grapefruit essential oil is considered a monoterpene essence with a limonene concentration of approximately 96-98%. It is this volatile compound that gives the characteristic citrus smell also used in perfumery. Limonene is known to be anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, calming and is likely to protect against certain diseases. 

The quality of your skin depends on the quality of your digestion and the ability of your main emunctories (liver/gut and kidneys) to eliminate toxins. A clogged body is an inflamed body.

If the primary emunctories do not properly fulfill their role as "garbage collectors," it will be the secondary emunctories such as the skin, lungs and uterus that will take over.

Because of its stated properties, grapefruit essential oil can be incorporated into your beauty routine to help your body eliminate toxins and reduce the orange peel effect caused by cellulite.

However, it's important to remember that all bodies have cellulite and it's normal. Even babies have it!

Prepare a mixture of 3 drops of grapefruit EO in calophylla vegetable oil which is decongestant. Apply directly to the affected area, making sure to massage well in the direction of the lymphatic circuit.

Grapefruit essential oil is anti-inflammatory and astringent. It thus calms skin inflammation while tightening pores.

1 drop of grapefruit EO diluted in a little black cumin vegetable oil to be applied to a clean face morning and evening will help regulate sebum production, dry out pimples, heal them and maintain good quality skin flora.

Grapefruit essential oil activates circulatory exchanges. Thus, it promotes a good irrigation of the scalp.

So you can incorporate 1 to 2 drops of EO into your regular shampoo while taking care to massage your scalp well. 

In this case, you can add 1 to 2 drops per day in a compote or diluted with a dispersant in an infusion. This should be done by cure of 5 days per week for 3 weeks depending on your vital state. Précaution d'emploi

Grapefruit essential oil, like all citrus EOs, is photosensitizing. This means that you should not expose yourself to the sun after application because you may get burned, especially in the summer when the sun is beating down hard.
