• Rhodiola's active compounds are mainly polyphenols and phenolic antioxidants. The most active are rhodiolosides and tyrosol, which are inactive when administered alone, but show a synergistic effect when combined with other rhodiola components.

Rhodiola rosea mother tincture: instructions for use

Approx. 1 teaspoonful or 25 drops in a glass of water 1-2 times a day, on an empty stomach in the morning and, if necessary, 30 minutes before lunch. Reduce dosage in case of excitement, then gradually increase. Russian tradition recommends taking the drug for 10 to 20 days, followed by a 2-week break before resuming if necessary. Others recommend taking it for 7 days, followed by 7 days off before resuming if necessary.
A stressed, sleep-deprived person can find restful sleep with a few days' course of rhodiola.
To prevent fatigue, very small daily doses of rhodiola have been shown to be effective.

Rhodiola rosea mother tincture: precautions for use

Rhodiola rosea should be taken early in the day, as it may disrupt sleep.
At recommended doses, there are no known side effects (overuse could lead to extreme fatigue and dizziness), but rhodiola is not recommended for pregnant or breast-feeding women, children or people undergoing medical treatment.
