The Seitai method is a Japanese technique of body manipulations that allows to reconnect the body and the mind in order to find an internal harmony. By working on specific areas of the body, the practitioner unties tensions allowing energy to flow and thus releasing crystallized emotions.
Le Seitaï, une technique venant du Japon
In Japanese, "seitai" means "the adjusted body". This technique was born before or after the Second World War (depending of the sources) when Masters of different practices got together to create a single technique taking the main principles of their respective disciplines. "Seitai", a term used for the first time by Master Nogichi, was born.
Introduced in the West in the 70's by Itsuo Tsuda, seitai deserves to be known by the general public as much as reiki or shiatsu.
A quoi sert le seitaï
The seitai allows to correct the posture from, for example, a work on the spine. Somatic pains and discomforts are relieved but not only! In the Seitai philosophy, we take into account the energy and spiritual dimension of the being. Thus, by manipulating certain parts of the body, one allows the flow of vital energy, the Ki, to be put back into motion.
This Ki is the source of all life. It is what makes us alive. If it is blocked, it creates heaviness and pain. Once it flows freely and fluidly, it is full health (physical and psychological).
Qu'est-ce qui peut bloquer le ki ?
The repressed emotions are the main cause of an energy blockage. Since they have not been expressed or acknowledged by the individual, they end up becoming somatized, that is, imprinted in the body and expressed in painful ways.
However, it is not only emotions that block the flow of Ki. Physical trauma such as a horse fall, a car accident, a surgical operation are also factors in energy blockage.
The diet influences the expression and strength of Ki. A poor quality diet, the presence of additives, preservatives, pesticides and pollution can weaken it for example.
Le Seitaï, une pratique holistique de bien-être
The precise sequence of movements (kata) performed with slowness and full awareness act on all the different levels of the being : energetic, mental, emotional and physical. The benefits are felt as soon as the execution of the Seitai movements is done in the Seitai spirit, i.e., with respect for one's body and its history, humility and openness.
The relaxation and unwinding induced allows one to release tension, fully oxygenate and bring one's attention to the here and now.
The Seitai is like a meditative practice. It requires being fully present to oneself, in one's body, in one's sensations. In this regard, the many health benefits of meditation are now recognized by the scientific community : heart rate regulation, improved sleep, better emotional management, reduction of pain, improved cognitive functions (memory/learning/concentration/reflection...), improved immune response, digestive disorders, decreased inflammatory state, etc... In other words, the Seitai stimulates the body's self-healing abilities.

The body has a memory. It knows even before the mind. The body carries the imprint of your history and that of your lineage. Moreover, psychogenealogy and epigenetics have successfully addressed this issue.
