Is old age a disease?

When you reach a certain age, when your children go off to live their own destiny, when your pension marks the beginning of a new life experience, when the lack of activities and interests sets in, the sedentary lifestyle sets in and the desire gradually disappears. After this age milestone - often linked to menopausal problems for a woman - some people can suffer from internal nostalgia and get carried away by the meanders of daily life, routine but also depression.

The couple finds itself in duet at home, man and woman alone with themselves if the small children are not present to put the animation, sometimes to turn in circle or even to argue. These scenarios may be imagined as they are in movies or novels, but they are unfortunately synonymous with the reality of things for some couples. Old age, if not properly considered, can sometimes go wrong.

The majority of young people (and not so young people too) see old age as a disease, dread it and fear it. This is not at all the case, this fear is not at all well-founded and having these preconceived ideas is not positive at all. It is this tendency to see this course in black that causes these fears, anxieties and anxieties. Not every older person will have osteoporosis, menopausal symptoms, heart problems, diabetes or cholesterol. It's all a question of life vision and lifestyle. Nothing is written, everything is in your hands.

As we get older, and let the depression and lack of interest set in, we sometimes let ourselves go towards a certain senility. Why? Why let herself go through the meanders of madness? To escape, simply to escape this stage of life for which we were not ready, to go back to the security that the metro-busy-sleepy lifestyle brought us and yet depressed us at the time. Life is an unsatisfying routine that we must learn to handle with care.

Let's not get caught up in this negative old age and take charge of our lives. Getting older is absolutely not a disease, no matter what anyone says. Growing old is a course of life, a new alternative.

Growing old is wisdom in its purest form.

Some tips for moving serenely into the age of wisdom

Adapt your diet

  • Eliminate refined foods (sugars, flours, cereals, etc.), saturated fats, fatty meats, cold cuts, sugary and/or exciting drinks, alcohol, heavy meals, bad food associations, etc.
  • Go for the Mediterranean type of diet which advocates good fats, grilled meats, plenty of fruits and vegetables, low temperature cooking.
  • Choose foods with a low glycemic index.
  • Adopt a hypotoxic diet.
  • Forget about excessive diets that put your body under constant stress: dietary restrictions are totally illogical if you want to get healthy.

Doing Sports

physical exercise

Don't force yourself to join a gym if you don't feel like it, but a 30-minute walk every day, yoga or Pilates can be enough to get you on the road to a healthier lifestyle.

Relax!

Who still takes time for him nowadays? We prefer to run after time, after hours of sleep, always running to the left or to the right because our life is too full: subway-work-sleep. Who still takes the time to relax in an aromatic salt bath with natural candles to make the atmosphere Zen and serene? Who manages to find time to go to the woods at dawn to enjoy the positive energies of life?

First, try to set aside half an hour just for yourself. A magical half-hour that will give you the energy you need to move forward more serenely in the imposed routine.

If your evenings are too hectic, if you can't find the time, know that the solution is simple: set the alarm clock 30 minutes earlier to enjoy the calm and be alone with yourself.

Instruct yourself

There is nothing like learning to keep your brain system active: Read, go on training courses, play games of mental skill, find a passion, invest yourself, meet other people, ...

To live happily is to live in good health.

Growing old is not a defect at all. A dose of positivism in life can sometimes be the best remedy against many ills. Of course, life is not a fairy tale and if pain or illness gets in your way, health specialists will be there to support you: Naturopath, aromatherapist, phytotherapist or alternative medicine specialists. All will be there to give you a hand and help you move forward in wellness and health.
