How is gastric reflux disease treated?

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a common problem since, according to statistics, the most prescribed medications, aside from painkillers and analgesics, are those that treat this acid reflux.

What medications are available to treat reflux?

The medications typically prescribed for this type of problem are proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). They block the acid secretion of the stomach. Now, if nature has endowed us with an organ, namely the stomach, that produces acid reflux, it is because there is a good reason: the acidity of our stomach is essential for good digestion, especially of proteins.

How do you get rid of it?

As usual, the official medicine does not think about the problem and has a purely symptomatic treatment. She will prescribe a medication that will stop the production of gastric acidity so that the patient no longer suffers from gastroesophageal reflux. All this does not respect what nature has advocated us to do, which is secrete acid that should go from the stomach to the digestive system and not, flow back to the esophagus and mouth.

Are there natural and healthy solutions?

The use of certain plants, or oils essentially, can correct this problem of acid reflux. Personally, I use a combination of natural products which contains, among others, :

  • Achillea Millefeuille: This plant helps relieve digestive discomfort, helps regulate stomach acidity, has an anti-ulcerogenic effect and, it helps fight against helicobacter pylori (bacteria that is responsible for various stomach concerns).
  • Coriander: An essential oil can be extracted from its seeds. This oil helps to regulate gastric acidity, promotes digestion and has spasmolytic properties.
  • Basil: Well known by all aromatherapists, it has stomachic and antispasmodic properties. Moreover, it participates in the fight against flatulence and bloating. It also promotes digestion and appetite.
