Herbal medicine to help hemorrhoids!

Hemorrhoids

Hemorrhoids are defined as arteriovenous dilatations located under the rectal mucosa in the form of rings around the anus. Hemorrhoids occur when the size of the "bulges" increases due to pushing and cause symptoms.

In the initial stage, hemorrhoids appear as invisible, impalpable nodules in the anal canal. As the problem becomes more severe, these nodules temporarily protrude through the anus often when the person has a bowel movement. They then return to their original position. At a more advanced stage, the nodules will often remain outside the anus, and they are then really embarrassing. In this case, the blood stagnates there. The hemorrhoids no longer empty and remain swollen with blood.

Exceptional in children and quite rare in the elderly, hemorrhoids are often caused by constipation. They are often associated with hormonal problems, pregnancy, childbirth, laxative abuse or prolonged sitting on a hard surface.

Hemorrhoids are often the result of a congestion of the portal vein (liver) which has a downstream effect in the form of hemorrhoids. In Chinese medicine, the anus is said to be the "eye of the liver".

When hemorrhoids are painful, burning, swollen, bleeding or protruding from the anus, it is considered "hemorrhoidal disease". This pathology affects one French person out of three. The main cause is portal congestion of the liver which can be due to alcohol or inadequate diet, which causes the hemorrhoids to swell and can lead to an attack.

Complications are anal pain, hemorrhoidal procidence, rectorrhagia of bright red blood after defecation, ulceration and thrombosis.

The extracts of buds are :

  • Aesculus hippocastanum: For centuries, various preparations made from the leaves, flowers, seeds and bark of horse chestnut have been used to treat venous circulation disorders such as heaviness and swelling of the legs, varicose veins or even hemorrhoids.
  • Sorbus domestica: in glycerine macerate, corm tree bud is primarily considered a venous drainer. It improves varicose veins, hemorrhoids and varicose ulcers.
  • Juniperus communis: The use of juniper dates back to ancient Egypt, if not earlier. These properties have persisted through the centuries without ever failing. Thus, these berries are particularly useful in cases of arthritis, gout and all other rheumatic diseases.
  • Rosmarinus officinalis: painkiller recognized in particular for migraines, rosemary will allow to decongest the vessels mainly at the level of the liver because of its hepatic tropism.

The plant extracts are :

  • Cynara scolymus : everyone knows the virtues of artichoke at the liver level, let's add that it constitutes a useful treatment during chronic constipation.
  • Cupressus sempervirens: cypress acts on venous and lymphatic permeability, and thus on the entire circulation. This interesting plant is thus to preserve or find a circulatory comfort, and a certain tonus in a more general way.
  • Hamamelis Virginiana: this shrub native to North America is also called witch hazel. Its leaves are widely used for all circulatory disorders. Its tannins allow a venotonic action and its flavonoids have vitamin P properties. Witch hazel increases the resistance of the capillaries and resorbs venous oedemas. Its anti-inflammatory and venotonic action is useful in the treatment of varicose veins, heavy legs and hemorrhoids.
  • Melilotus officinalis:the main components of melilot are coumarins with mild anticoagulant activity, which provides it with an interesting antithrombotic action. Sweet clover decreases the permeability of the wall and increases the tone of lymphatic vessels, veins and capillaries improving microcirculation, as well as cerebral and peripheral circulation. This beneficial venous action extends to hemorrhoidal problems.
  • Quercus robur: from a general perspective, oak is a tonic and stimulant. Its richness in tannin and its astringent bark, made it appreciated as an effective remedy for eczema and various other skin diseases. It is also successfully used to treat eye inflammation, hemorrhoids, frostbite and anal fistulas.
  • Ruscus aeculatus: Little holly or fragon was also used for a long time in Europe to relieve painful menstruation, to relieve swelling of venous origin, to treat constipation, urinary disorders and abdominal pain. The two saponosides, the ruscogenin and the neoruscogenin, extracted from this shrub have strongly vasoconstrictor properties what explains its effectiveness in the various venous disorders, in particular the venous insufficiency of the lower limbs (heavy and swollen legs, varicose veins, etc.) and the hemorrhoids.
  • Taraxacum dens leonis: by increasing the flow of bile and stimulating sluggish livers, dandelion is an excellent coach will prevent the occurrence of gallstones and kidney stones.
  • Vitis vinifera: This woody, climbing vine has been shown to be excellent for circulatory problems such as heavy legs, varicose veins, hemorrhoids or even circulatory disorders related to menopause. The blood red anthocyanosides allow to decrease the capillary permeability and to increase their resistance, thus decreasing the venous stasis. This action is reinforced by its tannins, astringents and vasoconstrictors, which support the venous return. Among these tannins, the proanthocyanidols have an action against free radicals.
