Do you suffer from gastritis, stomach pain, acid reflux, coughing, while having a stressed, nervous, anxious temperament? Have you considered that Helicobacter Pylori could be lodged in the mucous membrane of your stomach?
Contracted during childhood, persisting into adulthood, the presence of the helicobacter pylori bacterium in the stomach would concern 50% of the world population. For many, this infection is asymptomatic, for others, it causes a lot of suffering and for a minority, depending on the H. Pylori, this spiral-shaped bacterium can promote the appearance of gastric cancers. In this article, discover natural solutions that complement conventional treatments to eradicate this bacterium once and for all.
1 person out of 4 is infected by H. Pylori in France
According to the scientific literature, its colonization rate in France is estimated at about 25%! Indeed, its transmission is generally familial during promiscuity during childhood (kissing, drinking from the same glass etc..)
Having developed a resistance to stomach acids thanks to a specific enzyme (urease), H. pylori will be able to lodge itself in the gastric mucosa, thus creating, in the long term, an inflammation commonly called gastritis. In 5% of cases, this inflammation can lead to ulcerations because the weakened mucosa becomes porous and is "nibbled" by the stomach acids.
Conventional treatment to eradicate H. pylori
Conventional and recommended allopathic treatment is therefore based on a double-dose proton pump inhibitor ("antacid") combined with two antibiotics for seven days. Four to six weeks later, a breathing test is performed to verify the effectiveness of the treatment.
The consequences of this allopathic treatment are not to be underestimated. Indeed, antibiotics, as beneficial as they may be, completely wash out the intestinal lumen of all microbial life, destroying at the same time the microbiota composed of a whole set of bacteria essential to good physical and mental health.
In addition, the recommended triple therapy has its limits (70% success rate), which reveals another problem: antibiotic resistance, particularly to clarithromycin, which is about 21% in France.
An appropriate anti-acid and anti-Helicobacter Pylori diet
To relieve the efforts of the stomach, it is advised to start by adopting an anti-acid food hygiene. This excludes all refined products, rich in sugar, alcohol, industrial dishes, too fatty and/or too spicy.
Prefer basifying foods (potato, banana ...) to acidic foods.
Foods to avoid:
Dishes in sauce
dishes rich in fat: cold cuts and fatty meats
cheeses with mould: blue, Roquefort, Brie, Camembert, Munster, goat's cheese...
spicy and spicy plants: Asian, Oriental, African, Indian cuisine as well as all dishes based on mustard or spices
salads and raw vegetables
vinegar dishes
pickles
chocolate
oilseeds: walnuts, hazelnuts, almonds, peanuts, Brazil nuts...
soft drinks and soda
alcohol
fruit juices
tea and coffee
It's also important to learn to listen to yourself to identify foods that trigger acid reflux or make your symptoms worse.
Pulses should be rinsed and soaked at least one night before cooking to avoid weakening your stomach.
Foods to focus on:
boiled potatoes
cooked vegetables: carrots, zucchini, green beans, endives, eggplant, spinach, artichoke, chard...
Raw fruit outside or at the beginning of the meal. Cooked fruits (baked apples, compote, pie..) can be eaten at the end of the meal. Bananas should be chosen when ripe and eaten mashed with a fork. Citrus fruits are sometimes to be avoided depending on your sensitivity.
Lean meats: chicken, turkey, veal, rabbit
the fish
seafood and shellfish
Semi-complete cereals: rizsemolina, bulgur
yoghurts and cooked cheeses: cantal, emmental, gruyère...
still water, preferably between meals
Aromatherapy as a complement
Depending on the recommendations of your doctor, aromatherapist or naturopath, certain essential oils can act as natural antibiotics without the disadvantages of the latter. In first intention, we are interested in phenol essential oils such asorigan compact (origanum compactum) which is the most powerful bactericide. The essential oil of clove (eugenia caryophyllata), strongly limits the spread of the bacterium.
Then, the essential oil of safety (salvia officinalis) allows the healing of the mucous membranes of the stomach.
Herbal medicine to prevent Helicobacter Pylori
Cranberry juice is recommended to relieve inflammation and limit the proliferation of bacteria by preventing them from adhering to the stomach walls. However, it does not help to get rid of them.
Licorice is a natural gastric dressing. It allows to calm the inflammation of the mucous membranes while healing the damaged zones. Not to be consumed in case of high blood pressure.
Turmeric is an anti-inflammatory
le ginger facilitate digestion
le clove is a powerful antibacterial.
