Black cumin seed production
For many, black cumin from Egypt is recognized as having the greatest therapeutic efficacy. It grows in ideal climatic conditions on soils to which it is perfectly adapted.
Despite the care taken during production to mechanically remove foreign bodies, a small quantity may remain. It is therefore advisable to carry out a visual inspection, and if necessary a sorting, before each use.
No claims for refunds due to the presence of foreign bodies will be accepted.
Some traditional facts about black cumin seeds
Black cumin has already been awarded five FDA (Food and Drug Administration) patents in the USA and the UK for slowing the growth of cancer cells, improving diabetes, the immune system, viral infections, psoriasis and asthma.
Precautions for use black cumin seeds
Potentially toxic due to the presence of terpenoids and alkaloids, black cumin seeds are nevertheless widely consumed as a spice and medicinal plant, and the toxicity of black cumin appears to be practically nil when the seeds, oil or aqueous extract are consumed. Only thymoquinone and the essential oil have been shown to be toxic in mice when injected intraperitoneally, and studies on the cutaneous tolerance of the oil, the mutagenicity and the oral toxicity of the essential oil are still lacking.
