A great hepatic drainer and hepatoprotector, rosemary acts in cases of hepatic insufficiency, vesicular lithiasis and biliary dyskinesia. It is both cholagogue and choleretic. It lowers triglycerides, urea, uric acid and cholesterol levels, and restores mineral and ionic balance. In the blood, it normalizes sedimentation rate, traps free radicals (anti-oxidant) and increases red blood cell count. It is recommended for stimulating circulation in the extremities (cold hands and feet) and combats atherosclerosis.
At urogenital level, rosemary - Yang in nature - is a tonic for adrenal insufficiency and functional sexual anomalies (frigidity, impotence). It combats gonadal senescence, prostate congestion and dysmenorrhea.

glycerine macerate is made from young, non-woody leafy shoots. These are always the non-flowering shoots.

CharacteristicsRosemary is well known in phytotherapy, and is used in several galenic forms: mother tincture, essential oil, herbal tea, fluid extract,

etc.

Work by Fleurentin, Pelt and Alii shows that young shoots in glycerol macerate form have a much higher hepatoprotective activity (63%) than the whole plant (6%). The same applies to bile flow, with measurements showing a choleretic activity 2.5 times greater for the young shoot than for the whole plant.
Rosemary glycerol macerate also has a higher free radical scavenging activity than the whole plant. Other glycerol macerates, such as blackcurrant and poplar buds, are also likely to possess such antioxidant properties, but this needs to be confirmed experimentally.
The traditional indications for Rosmarinus officinalis have been confirmed in vivo in rats, with the action of young shoots superior to that of the whole plant.

Standard use and dosage for adults:

• Take the drops on an empty stomach, outside (or 1/2 h before) meals, 2 to 3 times a day, pure or diluted in spring water or honey. For best results, take them directly on the tongue and wait a few seconds before swallowing.
• Generally speaking, in the acute phase, take 2 to 5 drops 3 to 7 times a day for a maximum of one to three days. If the acute phase has not subsided, you may need to change buds.
• In the non-acute phase, for occasional treatment, take 5 to 15 drops a day until symptoms disappear, and for a maximum of 3 weeks. It's best to start with 5 drops a day, then gradually increase the dosage (1 drop a day) to 15 or even 20 drops, and keep the same number of drops until the end of the treatment. If necessary, repeat the treatment for three weeks after a one-week break. If the treatment has not had a positive effect, you may need to change buds.
• For in-depth treatment (preventive and curative), take 5 to 15 drops a day for 3 weeks in a row, followed by a one-week break, three times in succession. Then a one-month break before resuming the same cycle, if necessary.
