The golden rules for drinking without putting yourself in danger

We could survive without sugar, salt, vitamins and minerals for several days but certainly not without water. Indeed, water is essential to life because water deficiency quickly leads to degeneration and then death. So this vital element that we ingest on a daily basis should be free of pollutants and other disruptors to be able to act and work optimally in our body, without clogging us further.

Farmers, by applying various pesticides on their crops such as herbicides, fungicides, insecticides and so on, pollute the soil and at the same time the water tables which are infected in turn. Why are you talking about these slicks? Simply because they are a main source of drinking water for our planet. And unfortunately, the runoff of rainwater leads these chemicals to the so-called aquifers that will be the basis of human water consumption.

If only our drinking water contained only pesticides, but the malaise does not stop there. Indeed, our waters also contain endocrine disruptors or carcinogens. Yes, you read that right! We are really not safe by consuming in a sometimes thoughtless way. Let's take the case of hormones for example, when a woman opts for an oral contraceptive, she sees her urine, rich in synthetic hormones, appear in our spring water, our rivers and our tap water of course. Our waterways are infected and the fertility of the fish is reduced. Do you still not see a link between our daily water consumption and the difficulty that some couples have in giving birth? Do we need to talk about all those little girls who are already pubescent at 7 or 8 years old? A real problem of society caused by a hormonal imbalance.

If we were to analyze the elements in our tap water, we would be horribly shocked. Indeed, a multitude of substances is counted but the problem is not the dosage or concentration of each product which is in the standards but the multiplicity of each of these substances. This multitude unfortunately creates a real problem because of the accumulation of products that we swallow every day. We are poisoning ourselves without even realizing it.
Using shower gel and non-organic quality cosmetics with questionable composition is also a problem... Where do you think the rinse water will end up?

Being aware is a first step towards change

That's why it's important to filter your drinking water if it comes from the tap. There are many alternatives today:

  • Decanters with a built-in filter may be an ideal solution at first. Be sure to change the filter frequently to prevent accumulated toxins from flowing back into your carafe. The life of a filter is random from one brand to another.
  • Activated charcoal sticks that are placed in a water carafe or flask and have a life span of more or less 6 months. They are practical, easy and ideal for purifying tap water. Here again, it is important to read the conditions of use to avoid a return of toxins.
  • For superior water quality and highly efficient filtration, a reverse osmosis system is the way to go. This rather expensive mechanism offers a filtering system that allows only water molecules to pass through.

Don't want to adopt either system because you prefer to continue drinking bottled water? Again, there are risks and many parameters to consider if you want to drink consciously and intelligently.

It is little by little that we modify our life habits and that we move towards a conscious and thoughtful consumption. One step at a time, without frustration and with intelligence. However, don't forget to drink 1.5 liters of water daily!
