Take care of your skin in winter

Your skin's needs change with the seasons. It is therefore important to adapt your beauty routine. In winter, your skin needs special attention to protect it from the harsh climate. Discover all the natural tips to have a beautiful skin in winter.

Nourish your skin naturally

The first of the intentions is to apply organic quality vegetable oils selected according to your skin type :

  • black cumin oil: problem skin
  • oil ofargan Very dry and mature skin
  • jojoba oil: normal skin
  • apricot oil: sensitive skin

The shea butter is also recommended for very dry skin and black skin. In this regard, black skin deserves special attention because it is sensitive to cold and dryness, and it gets damaged very quickly. Indeed, the black skin dehydrates faster in our latitudes.

The vitamin E contained in the aforementioned vegetable oils is nourishing, anti-oxidant and helps protect the hydrolipidic film on the skin. In addition, the fat is also protective against the aggressions of the cold and against the feeling of cold. Very useful when the north wind rises!

Moisturize your skin properly

  • To alleviate the dryness of your skin and not just the exposed parts like the face and hands, it is important to drink enough water throughout the day. The best hydration comes from within!

A mantra to remember: "To have beautiful skin, you must drink water! "

Mineral water, running water, sparkling water and even infusions... Think about it!

  • To complete the internal hydration, you can rely on moisturizing creams and body milks. Remember to always check the composition of your products and choose certified organic, natural, ecocert etc... It is essential to consider with particular attention the products that you apply to your skin. Many of them have a dubious composition and their petrochemical ingredients are a disaster for your health (endocrine disruptor, carcinogen, allergen ...) and the environment.

Beware of hot showers and baths!

It's hard to resist a shower or a steaming bath when it's so cold outside, I agree... Although it's very pleasant, you mustn't let this good moment become a habit. It is important to know that hot water dries the skin considerably, making it even more fragile. Indeed, heat, unsuitable soaps and hard water attack the thin protective hydrolipidic layer on the surface of your skin.

In addition, heat promotes vasodilatation and therefore varicose veins!

Take care of your hands and feet naturally

Your hands are exposed to climatic aggressions. Cold, wind, rain, dry air... Although wearing gloves relieves you of sensory discomfort, the thin skin of your hands deserves to be nourished, moisturized and protected to prevent dryness, chapping and cracking. To do this, invest in a quality moisturizer or you can just as easily turn to vegetable oils like macadamia oil (healing and nourishing) or hemp oil (softening and repairing).

Winter care recipe for fragile hands:

Mix in equal parts:

  • macadamia oil
  • hemp oil
  • Shea butter (melt in a double boiler if needed).

Add 1 to 2 drops of true lavender essential oil lavandula angustifolia for its healing properties.

Place in a sterilized container such as a glass jar.

Your feet are not left out! Confined in your shoes, they are the forgotten ones of the winter... To nourish them in depth, apply a thick layer of shea butter by insisting on the heels and calluses then put large socks of the type of sports socks. To keep all the night. The next day, your feet will be incredibly soft, moisturized and nourished.

Coconut oil as a lip balm

Lips are sensitive to the vagaries of winter. To protect them, coconut oil and/or shea butter work miracles. In the morning before applying your lipstick, in the evening after removing your make-up, these fatty substances should be included in your beauty routine.

Tip : from time to time, to facilitate the desquamation, it is possible to perform a light scrub with coffee grounds.

Borage oil cure

Dry and fragile skin is indicative of a deficiency in vitamin E and omega 3. To compensate for this deficiency, a cure of borage oil will help restore the elasticity of your skin.

To conclude:

To take care of your skin in winter, you need to: moisturize and nourish, inside and out!
