Staying in shape all day: 4 tips to get there

In this article, we'll reveal four tips for eating efficiently and staying fit all day.

PUTTING YOUR MEALS IN ORDER

If you want to stay alert, don't start your meal with high-carbohydrate foods. For example, don't eat bread before a protein food, such as fish, because it negates the energizing effect of the protein food on the brain. Eat protein-rich foods first, so that their stimulating effects can work on the brain. Then add the carbohydrates later, once the digestion of the proteins has begun. The sequence of dishes within meals is very important!

AVOID CARBOHYDRATES ALONE

Don't eat carbohydrate foods on an empty stomach or at least eat them with a protein source. For example, don't eat high-sugar cereal in the morning without sprinkling it with high-protein milk. Bread, buns, pasta, crackers thrown on their own into an empty stomach will keep you as sleepy and relaxed as a glass of alcohol.

EAT LIGHT TO STAY EFFICIENT

Avoid eating a heavy, high-fat meal before performing tasks that require you to be wide awake and mentally alert. Eating too much food promotes lethargy. Since fats remain in the digestive tract longer than other substances, they prolong fatigue. The heavier and higher-fat your meal, the longer it will take to regain your focus and energy.

MAINTAIN AN ACTIVE COGNITIVE FUNCTION

And most importantly...don't forget to stimulate your memory and other cognitive functions in any way possible. A function or organ that is not stimulated or exercised quickly atrophies and loses its efficiency and performance!
