Male fertility alert

There are many alarming facts at the beginning of the 21st century. For example, scientists have highlighted that the concentration of sperm in semen has decreased by 50% since the early 2000s. They also highlighted that in 50 years, the quality of spermatic fluid has decreased by 50% worldwide and the seminal volume has decreased by 25%.[1].

In France, in just 15 years (between 1989 and 2005) among the 35-year-old male population, researchers found a very sharp decline in sperm count as well as anincrease in malformed sperm. Thus, they believe that the male infertility rate currently stands at about 60%, meaning that this problem affects nearly two-thirds of this population.

Alarmist prognoses suggest a male infertility rate approaching ¾ of the population, or even the totality by 2050. Dr. Franck Ledoux explains in the presentation: "Feeding up to 18 months: the intestinal keys to our immunity and our future thoughts[2] "It is said that these alarming figures are the result, among other things, of the poor quality of the industrial food we ingest daily, which in men no longer sufficiently nourishes the spermatogenesis process. He especially emphasizes the dramatic consequences of pesticides and how we feed the earth. He says that there are official studies that prove all this. These studies provided to the French and Belgian governments, more than 15 years ago, have not given rise to any official reaction and to this day no measures have been taken towards these killer molecules of plant protection products.

Female infertility issues. in the population of women of childbearing age would amount to nearly 33%. This infertility is often related to ovulation disorders or a problem with the fallopian tubes (tubal infertility). Note that in women, this is referred to as primary infertility and secondary infertility. The first is the situation of a woman who has never been able to get pregnant. In the second case, women who have succeeded in becoming pregnant, but whose pregnancy has not reached term.

Fabien Moine[3]A competent and common-sense naturopath on the web states that fifty years ago, when the cow was presented to the bull, a single mating was sufficient to inseminate it, and that under good living and health conditions, it should probably be the same for humans. This is not at all the case since nowadays, it takes 12 to 14 months for a couple to achieve a spontaneous pregnancy and this with an average of nearly 800 sexual encounters to do so!

Other figures show that in 2012 the percentage of couples who could not conceive a baby after 12 months without contraception is at 24% while it was 14% 20 years earlier in 1991. In addition to this increased average conception time and the number of matings required to achieve a pregnancy, there is also a clear increase in genital malformations. Hypospadias (malformation of the urethra that does not open at the tip of the penis) has a frequency of 1.1 0/00 per year, an annual increase of 1.2%. Cryptorchidism (failure of the testicles to descend into the scrotum) marks an increase of +1.8% with the need for surgical intervention. As for testicular cancer, in 2008 its incidence (worldwide standardized rate per 100,000 people) was 6.7. It has been increasing by 2.5% per year since 1998.

In France, approximately 500,000 couples consult each year in order to benefit from a conception aid. This is equivalent to about 1 in 7 couples. About 1 in 10 uses treatments that may or may not lead to pregnancy. Infertility would affect 80 million people worldwide. It is interesting to note that this type of concern affects much more white and so-called "civilized" populations or those living in developed and industrialized countries. These problems are much less frequent among North African and African populations. Some populations in India are beginning to be affected by this same type of problem. It should be noted that for the last twenty years, India has been strongly affected by the invasion of pesticides, other phytosanitary products and GMO crops.

Conventional medical circles limit themselves to explaining infertility by factors such as age, ovarian dysfunction, fallopian tube obstruction, endometriosis, polycystic ovary syndrome, etc. For men the explanations extend to other areas than just hormonal problems and genital abnormalities since they include radiation therapy, smoking, alcohol, medications... 10 to 15% or even nearly 25% of infertility problems are of unexplained origin. With a broader vision and specific to holistic medicine, integrative or naturopathy, we can find many other causes to these infertility problems, many of which are related to general lifestyle, environmental pollution, as well as emotional and energetic spheres.

In the end, according to official statistics, only 4 to 5% of couples are considered permanently infertile after several recourse to medically assisted reproduction (MAP) methods.

In another article, we will develop natural aids (food, food supplements) that can help to solve some of these infertility problems.
