When a negative emotion overrides a positive one, it can quickly impact a person's daily life. Of course, feelings are present at every moment of our existence: at work, with family, friends, in the home and in our hearts.
But are we listening enough?
An emotional health routine.
The emotional system is very complex and quickly, if not alert to the messages of his body, an individual could sink into nervous health disorders with a degree of severity more or less serious. Finally, falling into depression is not reserved for a certain category of people. Indeed, it can happen to anyone, no one is really safe from this scourge.
Let's be attentive to our physical and emotional health.
The first signs are different from one person to another, but often there are common characteristics such as: a lack of energy and vitality, a loss of interest in the things that used to make us happy, insomnia, an inability to experience pleasure, a deep boredom with everything and everyone, and sometimes, in the most serious cases, suicidal tendencies.
According to the WHO, each year, 25% of the population suffers from depression or anxiety, half of which are not medically treated. To get out of a depression, it is recommended to have a holistic accompaniment which would allow to take care of the person in its totality. In addition to phytotherapy treatments, which are often indispensable, as well as the nutritional supplements necessary for a certain physiological recovery, other methods are sometimes indispensable to get out of this state. One of them is sophrology.
Where did it come from?
Sophrology was born in 1960 thanks to Alfonso Caycedo. This neuropsychiatrist, born in 1932 in Colombia, was practicing hypnosis in a psychiatric hospital when he decided to deepen his concept to have an even more positive impact on health. Following his numerous researches over the years, Caycedo developed a new technique while being strongly influenced by the oriental current. Indeed, it is by discovering Indian yoga, Tibetan Buddhism as well as Japanese Zen that he can finally understand the benefits of the union of the body with the spirit.
Definition
Sophrology is a psycho-corporal method of deep relaxation that allows the person being sophronized (the person in consultation) to be in a state known as "sophrolominal". From then on, the individual is confident enough to let go physically and to put himself in a state of wakefulness. The sophrology known as Caycedian is composed of 4 great basic principles:
- The integration of the body schema which allows to be in harmony with one's own physical body.
- The positive thinking that keeps away as much as possible from the negativism that is more and more present in our lives, unfortunately.
- The principle of adaptability that teaches us to adapt to what surrounds us, while being in tune with who we are.
- The objective reality allows us to be aware of our environment, of ourselves and of others.
In addition to Caycedo's sophrological movement, various other currents have emerged over the years, including analytical sophrology and psycho-behavioral sophrology. All different, each sophrologist will use his own method according to his values and his desires. Nevertheless, whatever the movement used, the results are really positive in the majority of cases.
Also associated with personal development and meditation, sophrology is a very effective tool to accompany many health disorders, including depression. We sometimes think that we can get out of this situation with medication alone, but to date, the therapeutic offer is sufficiently complete to allow each person to use the tools that are most appropriate for him or her.
