The so-called "healthy" and organic food is taking more and more space in traditional supermarkets. All the attention is currently directed towards health and well-being. Today's men and women are increasingly concerned about their health, and therefore they want to regain a vitality that has been lost sometimes for decades. Very attentive to their balance, they discover new foods and new methods to eat well.
Nevertheless, in the discovery of a new way of life, many people will try to find answers to their questions either in literature (because every week, many books on the subject of healthy eating are released in bookstores) or on the internet and mainly on Youtube where videos are flourishing by the hour. Of course, everyone will come up with their own advice and personal experience with a strong opinion on the subject. These influencers, who generate a way of thinking and living on Youtube, often provide answers but can also lead an individual on a path that does not correspond to him. Indeed, we all have a different metabolism with variable and random needs. Draconian and strict diets or diets with restrictive tendencies such as the protein diet, the demanding ketogenic diet, the inflexible frugivorism, etc... may not be suitable for everyone. We are all equal before the law, but we are all different when it comes to health and vitality.
Finally, what is eating well?
The first question to ask ourselves is what we want to achieve with our eating habits. Do we want to regain vitality? Do you want to lose weight or maintain a healthy weight? Do we want a 100% healthy life? So many questions that it is important to ask yourself in order to move forward towards your ideal health path, the one that corresponds to your needs but also to our values.
How about organic?
"The European Union organic label is a label certifying that the product in question complies with the European Union's organic farming regulation, which is based on the ban on synthetic fertilizers and pesticides. As of July 1, 2010, the EU is introducing a new green organic logo. " Wikipedia
Has it ever been said that the organic label certifies a healthy diet? No, never, and it is on this precise point that we must focus our attention. Indeed, sometimes, we can imagine that because a product is certified organic means that it is good for our health. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. A certain category of products with the organic label are processed products (I am thinking of veggie burgers, spreads, cakes, etc.) that also contain preservatives and ingredients not recognized by the organization. So organic, maybe, but healthy for the health, certainly not.
Finally, how do we know what is good for us?
The most important rule for healthy eating is to consume the most natural and least processed foods possible, i.e. fruits and vegetables (preferably organic), flours, oilseeds, spices and virgin oils. These ingredients allow us to prepare dishes that are healthy for the body and, moreover, tasty for our taste buds.
As soon as we change our consumer's hat, many changes can occur in terms of vitality, weight and general lifestyle.
Eating properly often requires a lot of self-investment, but this journey towards a balanced lifestyle often allows you to regain your health or your healthy weight that you have been lacking for a while.
