To make this delicious drink, we will first prepare a turmeric paste with the following ingredients:
- 30 grams of organic turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon organic ground black pepper
- 125 ml of pure water
We combine pepper with turmeric for a better availability of the latter in the body.
The first step is quite simple as you will just have to place these last ingredients in a pan and cook on low heat while stirring regularly until you obtain a more or less thick paste.
You will have to let the preparation cool and then transfer it to a glass jar. This paste will keep for up to 4 weeks in your refrigerator. Note already that this recipe will be very economical.
Now let's make the drink
To make the "Golden Milk with Turmeric" drink, you will need to dilute a level teaspoon of the turmeric paste previously prepared with 125 ml of your choice of vegetable milk (rice milk, coconut milk, almond milk, hazelnut milk, spelt milk or oat milk) in a new fondue pot, still over low heat.
To these two ingredients, you can add ½ teaspoon of coconut butter as well as a teaspoon of sugar of your choice.
As for pepper, coconut butter will be used because curcumin, the main compound of turmeric, is fat-soluble and therefore, it will be necessary to integrate a quality fat for a good assimilation of the latter.
Regarding sugar, prefer agave syrup, honey or unrefined organic cane sugar or coconut sugar. Avoid as much as possible refined white sugar which acidifies the body as we have already seen previously.
This last preparation must not be boiled to not remove all the benefits of this drink but simply mounted to a sufficient heat to bind all the ingredients.
