Why do a digital detox?

Ten years ago, smartphones weren't as central to our daily lives as they are today. The world has changed, it has evolved, but not for our well-being! Today, smartphones are responsible for a number of societal ills, including :

- Burn out

- Anxiety

·     Depression

- Sleep disorders and chronic fatigue

- Irritability, headaches

- Lack of self-esteem

- Lack of self-confidence

- Chronic stress

The list goes on and on. The smartphone is a real factor in stress in our already busy lives. Our emotions are constantly engaged by our screens. How can we manage our daily lives while letting ourselves be absorbed by the fluctuating images on instagram or facebook? These overly perfect images are a source of stress and mood disorders for many people.

Oh how many teenage girls fall into the depersonalization of their being by comparing themselves to these too-perfect images. How many women or men aspire to the life of the neighbor who shows only the positive side of his or her life? How many people measure their worth by the number of "likes" they accumulate?

Le Phubbing

Ever heard of phubbing? Phubbing is the contraction of phone and snubbing. When people prefer to look at their phones rather than take part in social life, they've entered the phubbing phenomenon.

Very common in our advanced societies, this phenomenon leads to social isolation.

Do you suffer from phubbing?

Don't delay, digital detox is your only way out.

Digital Detox

Digital detox: how do I go about it?

It's not easy to part with a tool that seems to be an extension of our very being. Here are a few tips to help you achieve your digital detox for a more serene life.

Mute notifications

To avoid getting carried away by the beeps that ring every 5 seconds, deactivate unwanted notifications. They're a stress factor, and increase hyperactivity and anxiety disorders. Free yourself from them!

Delete applications

Some applications are not essential. Facebook, for example, can be visited from any computer. There's no need to have the application that drives you to procrastination.

Sort it out, I'm sure you could do without many applications. Games and social networks should be the first to go.

Oubliez votre téléphone

When you're out with friends, at a restaurant with your partner, at the park with your kids, leave your phone at home or at the bottom of your bag. Manage your social life better, so you can fully enjoy the company of those around you. Excessive phone use could damage your relationships.

Letting go

It's just a phone! What did we do in the 80s, 90s and even the early 2000s? Going to a concert was experienced with full awareness, walking in nature was a real tool for meditation.

Let go of your digital tools to live fully in the present moment and soothe your everyday anxieties. Cardiac coherence can help you in this new screen-free life.

Positive thinking

Not using your phone anymore can be frightening. Negative thoughts are emerging. Overcoming your addiction and becoming aware of it allows you to heal through positive thinking. But it's essential to understand that detoxification is the key to digital healing. The vicious circle is established very quickly with the web connection. To live better, think about the beautiful things in life, the real things that surround you. Relaxation techniques can help you on this journey.

Digital detox: help, it's much more serious!

Does frustration send you into a panic attack? Are you unable to step back from the demands of your smartphone ? Are you feeling deeply unwell? Is it all too much for you?

Perhaps it's more serious than a simple addiction? Psychotherapy is sometimes necessary to help relieve distress. Paying attention to your behavior is important.

Behavioural therapy by a competent therapist may help you to :

- Refocus on yourself

- Calming anxiety

- Out of isolation

- Overcoming addiction

- Reduce your aggressiveness

- Lutter contre la nervosité

For your well-being, choose a digital detox or therapy if your addiction runs deeper.
