Alarming depletion of minerals and vitamins in fresh foods

Everyone knows that the human body normally requires a daily intake of vitamins and minerals in order to function optimally. These elements, man must initially find them in his diet and mainly in fresh fruits and vegetables.

A study conducted in the United States makes us aware of something appalling, vegetables and fruits today are extremely poor in nutrients, both vitamins and minerals.

To prove his point, nutritionist Alex Jack checked the levels of these elements in fruits and vegetables in the US Department of Agriculture food tables. The tables show that between the years 1951, 1972 and 1999, some vegetables lost more than half of their nutritional value.

Thus broccoli loses 63% of its vitamin A content and 56% of vitamin C, or potatoes lose 57% of vitamin C and B2, and 100% of vitamin C in half a century. It appears that the 4 or 5 portions of fresh fruits and vegetables recommended daily by all official health organizations would become absolutely insufficient. This type of revelation would explain in part the mineral and vitamin deficiencies of the current population and also the increase in degenerative diseases, the weakening of the immune, nervous and other systems.

Alex Jack has been trying since that moment to get an explanation from the official authorities in order to explain this phenomenon of depletion of fresh food, he has so far obtained only vague, absurd answers or having strictly nothing to do with the question asked.

It is worth noting that the amount of vitamin C in sweet peppers dropped from 128 to 89 mg, that the vitamin A in apples dropped from 90 to 53 mg and that the vitamin A in broccoli almost completely disappeared. Green vegetables are not what they used to be. Indeed, such important nutrients as potassium, magnesium, vitamin C and vitamin A have been cut in half on average in the most common fruits and vegetables.

Although carrots and pumpkins escape this depletion and have a higher vitamin A content than in 1963, this is an exception whose mystery remains, as does the depletion of almost all other fruits and vegetables today.
